ABOUT ME

My art training started early. At age five I was taught drawing and painting techniques by my artist parents, and went on to win multiple junior art competitions. I concentrated my study on impressionism style and the use of pastels. Through the years, I've developed a unique way of using colors. I paint with rich and pure pigments, often without mixing. My preferred mediums are soft pastel and oil paint. I had the privilege of studying under great artists at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, obtaining her BFA degree in graphic design. I continue to draw and paint, while working as a professional Art Director in advertising. I attend regular life drawing and painting sessions at the Salmagundi club and the Art Students League in NYC. I'm a resident artist member at the Salmagundi club, a member of the American Impressionist Society, Pastel Society of America, and Degas Pastel Society. I'm a participating member of the Pictor Gallery in Chelsea, NYC. my artworks have been selected and shown in many juried shows around the country, recently in the Philadelphia Pastel Society First National Exhibition and Central Massachusetts Pastel Society 2022 Marks of Distinction Show. I enjoy sharing my art and painting techniques with an audience. Time-lapse videos of my creative process can be viewed on my Instagram account @fangsullivan.

I study many other forms of art, including Irish fiddle and ballet. They are essential sources of my inspiration.

I teach occasional virtual drawing classes to adults. I occasionally take commissioned work as well. Please email me for inquiries.
