Artist Bio
Fang Sullivan is an award-winning contemporary figurative artist based in New York City, known for her vibrant, expressive use of pastel and oil. Raised in Beijing by artist parents, she developed a love of painting early in life and later earned a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, continuing her studies at the Art Students League. Blending classical Impressionist traditions with a contemporary sensibility, her mission is to inspire others to notice the quiet beauty of everyday life.
Her work—including portraits, landscapes, and still lifes—has been exhibited in galleries nationwide. In 2023 and 2024, she received First Prize in the National Association of Women Artists’ Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories exhibition. She also shares her process through demonstrations, virtual workshops, and time-lapse videos on Instagram (@fangsullivan).
Fang is an Artist Member of the Salmagundi Club; a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and NAWA; an elected Artist Member of the American Artists Professional League (AAPL); and a member of the American Impressionist Society.
